I switched fields two years ago to see how I would be doing in a different field professionally but it didn't turn out good so I switched back to my old proffesional field. Somebody asked me why I did that to which I answered "Had I not done that I would have regretted till my last breath of not giving it a shot" but now I know that, that field wasn't for me.

My question is in regard to "Had I not done that I would have regretted till my last breath of not giving it a shot". If someone asks me the same question and I reply them saying the same ""Had I not done that I would have regretted till my last breath of not giving it a shot" then is it correct to say "I would have regretted till my last breath of not giving it a shot" because I am still alive and ofcourse I will die somewhere in the future so is it correct to uee "Would have regretted" here or should I use "I would regret" instead?

There is no need to repeat your sentence so many times. This reads much more smoothly:

i switched fields two years ago to see how I would be doing in a different field professionally but it didn't turn out good well, so I switched back to my old professional field. Somebody asked me why I did that to which I answered "Had I not done that I would have regretted till my last breath of not giving it a shot but now I know that, that field wasn't for me."

My question is in regard to my response. Is it correct to give that response if someone asks me the that question because I am still alive and of course I will die somewhere sometime in the future? Or should I say "I would regret" instead?

Try:

to see how I would do
