In the following sentence the underlined part is correct or it should be "would rather"?
Visiting museums is interesting, but I'd sooner we went swimming.

In the following sentence is the underlined part [STRIKE]is[/STRIKE] correct or should it [STRIKE]should[/STRIKE] be "would rather"?

"I'd (I would) sooner" is correct BrE, as is "I'd (I would) rather".

The 'd' is a contraction of 'had' in "I'd better", which means something different.
