Both are unnatural without context.
Are the following sentences correct?
I have just finished doing half page of the test paper. :cross:
I have just finished doing half a page of the test paper. :tick:
I have just finished doing half of the page of the test paper. Not grammatically wrong but I cannot imagine a situation in which it would be used.
