Are these sentences correct?

i) Half of July has already passed.
ii) Half of the July month has already passed.

'Half of the month of July' would work, wouldn't it? Here's an example: "The refund covers half of the month of March and any subsequent months while the university is providing only essential services and conducting essential research.".

Yes, with a lot of extra words.

"We're halfway through July" is a natural expression.

"Half of the month of July has passed" is unnatural.

Half of July has gone by

OR

July is halfway over

OR

July is halfway through.

Why use "already"?
