Could we also say(2,3)?

2. He had been to market. (perfect past)? the past perfect (tense)

3. He will have been to market. (perfect future)? the future perfect (tense)

They are in different tenses and therefore they mean different things.

Each of your sentences can be used in speech in different situations. You need to learn all the uses of tenses to understand the situations in which they can be used and to use them properly. E.g. sentence 1 can be used by a man's wife who sees lots of fruit and vegetables in the klitchen and makes a conclusion that her husband has been to the market (the result of it is obvious - the fruit and vegetables he has bought).

Try to think of similar situations for sentences 2 and 3. This activity is sure to help you understand the use of the English tenses.
