Jutfrank might be able to give you a rule, but I don't do that much. I just know what works. (Jutfrank is British. Maybe I should say Charlie.)

When you learn your first language you don't learn rules. You learn patterns. (A friend of mine has an infant daughter (almost one). She is doing one the most important things she will ever do, which is learn her first language.)

If I were still a moderator I might close this thread. The original topic has long been abandoned and even the side issues have petered out.
