I found a task in my book and decided to practice. I studied the rules and didn't understand anything. Could you do the task, I think that it will be easier to understand the finished one.

Welcome to the forum. :hi:

As you can see, your post has come through with a lot of non-functioning code. This can happen if you paste text into the forum. Please use the "Edit Post" button to remove all the code, and enlarge the font so that we can actually read it.

Please note that we don't do exercises for you! After you have edited your text, you will need to tell us what you think the answers are and why.

This exercise is not a task that I was given. I found it in a book and I want to find out. On the completed task I think it will be easier for me to understand

Please tell us the title and author of the book from which you copied the exercise. You need to find a book which has an answer key to the exercises in it.

Please make your own effort to answer the first three or four questions, with reasons for your choice – not all 18 at the same time.

I made the same comment here.

Thank you for removing the code. I have edited post #1 so that the font is large enough to read and I have improved the layout. Can you see why it is better?

Are you having problems understanding the instructions? If so, here is a clue. In the space, you must use one of the following words:

must, mustn't, have to, don't have to, can, can't, could, couldn't, should, shouldn't

and a form of the verb in brackets.

Here is an example sentence (this is not from the exercise):

Last year, I ... tennis but now I can (play). > Last year, I couldn't play tennis but now I can.

Well, that's something like that. Looked in the book there are no answers.
1. He..
couldn't play . chess last year but now he can (play).
2. You.must go.. and see your doctor about this terrible allergy (go).
3. Ann.have to..find her keys this morning (find).
4. Jim..should. to be at the airport at 9 a.m. to meet his friends (be).
5. People. couldn't leaves litter on the beach (leave).

Well, that's something like that. Looked in the book there are no answers.

1. He
couldn't play chess last year but now he can (play). :tick:
2. You must go and see your doctor about this terrible allergy (go). :tick:
3. Ann have to find her keys this morning (find). :cross:
4. Jim should [STRIKE]to[/STRIKE] be at the airport at 9 a.m. to meet his friends (be). :tick: (There is another correct option.)
5. People couldn't leaves litter on the beach (leave). :cross:

You have made a good start.

For #3, try another option (not "have to"). Think of something that is a problem!
For #4, there is another correct option. What would you say to express that it is very important that he is there at 9am.
For #5, think about the fact that leaving litter on the beach is a bad thing. It is something that is not recommended.

It will be easier for me if you fully help with the exercise, I myself would quickly figure out the finished task. I lose a lot of time on the forum due to the fact that I type for a long time.

Your thread title is "Help in learning English". That's what we do. We help. We don't give you the answers. If you're not prepared to invest the time, you won't learn. I gave you an example and you made a good start with the first five question. I promise you that if we tell you the answers, you will learn very little.

A doctor is not helping a patient if they give them cigarettes. Helping them stop and cope for themselves is truly helping. Have a go yourself first.

spirt, please correct the ones you got wrong and try another one.

Please don't post more than three at a time and wait for our comments before carrying on to the next.

Please check, if you correct the error incorrectly, I will figure it out myself

I've closed this thread because spirt again posted far too many questions for one thread.
