In AmE, it is common to say "keeps you regular".

Fruits help in your bowel movement

That doesn't work for me. You might get away with "Some fruits can help your bowel movements" or something similar but "help in" doesn't work and it's not all fruits.

OK, the 'in' shouldn't be there.

Practically all fruits help bowel movements due to their fibre content, to a certain extent. No?

No. Not all fruits have a high fiber content.

Is there any fruit which does not contain fibre?

As far as I know, there are none that contain no fiber. But there is a variety of fruits recommended for low fiber diets. We are not talking all or nothing here. Just for an example, check the fiber content of watermelon.

I think there's a difference between a healthy regime of fruits and vegetables in order to promote a healthy digestive system and healthy bowel movements, and the fruits most people would recommend to actually help solve a bout of constipation. The latter is what I was thinking about when I suggested prunes and fresh pears.

You can also say: Some fruits helps to cleanse the digestive system.

Not a teacher

I know we spend a lot of time discussing colons on this website, but this must be a first!

Many thanks Rover_KE. It's a language question. I'm working on translation piece for a research company. They're doing a research on health benefits of yogurt.
