Then you've had not just an English lesson, but a cultural lesson as well. Honestly, only a really over-dramatic person would speak like that on an everyday basis in the UK. Real people just say things like "What a great holiday! Flat on my back on that white sand beach, under a palm tree, listening to the waves lap - seriously, love, I was like a pig in poo! I wanna go back NOW!"

And we too have had a lesson in culture. Thanks, alpacinoutd, for the insight into Persian culture.

Okay, so those three sentences are completely okay for writing. Right?

I hope so because I like them a lot! Is it possible some people don't like them as schmaltzy sentences?
They are schmaltzy. There's nothing wrong with schmaltz as long as it's intentional.

Unfortunately, over the past few decades, my country has been on the news for all the wrong reasons! We are indeed poetry-loving people!
And the sad reality is that a poetry and culture loving majority can never defeat a violent, gun-loving minority with superb organizational capacity!

We have the same problem in the US!

Lord help us all.
