I was wondering whether I should say I scored high or highly above average in xx (e.g. a test).
I suppose highly is more grammatically sound and high is acceptable colloquially? THANKS

Neither one works with "above average".

No. 'My score is well above average.'

No. 'My score is well above average.'

I am not a teacher

I think it is also correct to say "I scored well above average in the exam"

That would be correct with a full stop at the end.

You could use way above average if you're feeling boastful.
