Re: grammar test

Please do not name your threads "grammar test". That will be meaningless for future reference.

Re: grammar test

I have changed the thread title and I will change title of the other post from the OP.

mshahsavar, please use some or all the words from a post as a thread title.

1) His telegram said, 'I ......... on the 7th.
a. will be arrive b. will be arrived
c. am arriving d. would arrive This is possible but the most likely answer is "c".

2) I don't think we've met before you're confusing me with ............. .
a. one other b. someone else
c. other person d. some other Both "b" and "c" would work here. (Edit: Sorry, I misread it. Only "b" is correct.)

3) Will you be able to come to the meeting? '.......... '
a. i'm not afraid so b. I'm sorry not.
c. I'm afraid not. d. I'm sorry that 'no' . This is correct.

4) He was a good runner so he .............. escape.
a. was able to b. succeeded to
c. could d. might The best answer is "a" but "c" could also work.

5) I would like ............... it again.
a. that you read b. you to read
c. you reading d. you read This is correct.

I disagree with number 2. C would only work as "another person".

It's even possible that we know he was a good runner in the past, and he is currently captured, so he might escape, based on what we know of his past. Not the correct answer, but not impossible.
