Hi,

I'm going to make a few calls to alteration shops to estimate the cost of fixing my jeans. Hopefully, you can see the hole in the picture attached.
I need to provide a thorough description of what needs to be fixed.

Here is what I came up with,
'I have a 1.5 inches torn seam of my jeans located 6 inches down from the pocket line'.

Can you provide any suggestions please?

Thanks

Alex.

"How much would you charge to fix a torn outside seam on my jeans? The tear's about 1.5 inches long".

To be honest, I think you're wasting your money. Why don't you just sew it up yourself from the inside?!

I agree, but if you can't do it yourself, why not take it to the nearest tailor shop and show it to them? I't's such a minor job that I doubt it's worth the investment in time to find the best price.

May be you're right, but given that I paid $200 for those jeans and don't have any experience sewing, I just figured that I'd better be safe than sorry.
Anyway, nobody would give me an estimate, suggesting I appear in person, which ruins my initial plan.

Thanks.

I was lucky to be having my jeans repaired by the store specialist and not paying for this.
emsr2d2, how do you make a difference between 'torn outside/inside seams'?
I mean if you can see a tear from outside it would be seen from the inside too?

I meant that it was on the seam which runs down the outside of the leg as opposed to the inner thigh.
