What is the difference between probable and probably? And how do we know when to use it in a sentence?

Hi anne.live,

Probable is an adjective.

Probably is an adverb.

Examples:

“Nicotine is a probable cancer-causing agent.”

“Nicotine is probably a cancer-causing agent”

Now, you should study more on the difference between adjective and adverb.
