He was to do something.
Please explain with some example that how to use "Was to" in speaking ?
- I was to go to college OR I was supposed to go to college. The second is more emphatic.
- My father told me to go to the bank but I could not go there because I was supposed to go to college.
Uncle : Hi,where are you?
Me : I am still in the US.
Uncle : What? You are in the US? But what about your mom? You were supposed to go to India to bring her back to
the US.
Thank you.
