Is it inappropriate to say "I and John went to school" ?
should I say John and I ?
what messages does each one of them imply ?
I know it would sound like a joke if they didn't differ but someone told me this and it has made me very confused . Please answer .

Naming yourself last is considered polite.

Not only that, but "I and John ..." is just weird.

But the ungrammatical, though widely used, 'Me and John went to school' doesn't sound weird at all.

Please note the amendments I have made to your post. Remember to follow the rules of written English:

- Start every sentence with a capital letter.
- End every sentence with a single punctuation mark.
- Do not put a space before a comma, full stop, question mark or exclamation mark.
- Always put a space after a comma, full stop, question mark or exclamation mark.

Thank you for correcting me emsr2d2. But Is message uncountable? Can't each one of them have multiple messages?

If you're going to be ungrammatical, why bother with the politeness? ;-)

Message can be countable - you can send text messages - but when you're talking about the meaning of something, we tend to use it uncountably.
