I bought two books on an app and the books were supposed to be sent from overseas (the US). I waited four months to get the books because of the pandemic. I wrote a sentence to express the idea:

I bought two overseas books and I waited for four months for them to arrive.

Please help me make this sentence natural.

'I ordered two ebooks from the USA and it took them four months to arrive.'

'I ordered two ebooks from the USA and it took them four months to arrive.'

I don't think they're ebooks. I think they're physical books that Silver ordered using an app. Ebooks are generally instantaneous.

I bought two books online and it took four months for them to arrive from [name of country].

Yes. They're not ebooks. Speaking of which, a UK friend Thomas told me he only reads Kindle books. It took him two seconds to download one. I like physical books (paperback) because I can read them when I go to different places without spending time using electronic devices.

There's no such thing as an overseas book.

Remember to put commas between the clauses of compound sentences!

If you know they're coming from the USA, why not say so — instead of 'from overseas'?
