I brought it (with me)

Hi,

"I continued to insist that I did my homework even though I didn't have it (with me.)".

On the above sentence, "with me" should be necessary? I mean doesn't it sound redundancy? Or is it normally used in informal way?

"I brought it (with me)", likewise "with me" should be put in or infromal way?

"I continued to insist that I did my homework even though I didn't have it (with me.)". "with me" is necessary in your sentence, also it would be better if you wrote "I had done" instead of "I did".
