Hi everybody I have a doubt about this question

I
didn’t know anything about the meeting. Iwish _____ .

A. I had known
B. I knew
C. I was told
D. someone tells me
C. to go

In my opinion the answer is B. but a friend of mine choose D. because "wish" is present simple and so is tell
So in your opinion which one is the correct ones?

A is the only correct answer. "I didn't know, and I wish I had known."
Admittedly, it's a strange thing to wish for, because there's no possibility of it coming true.
