Not necessarily. You could have simply been too lazy.
 
You used "around" in your title and your final sentence, but "round" in the quoted sentence. Both are used in the phrase in question in BrE but I'm not sure if that's the case in other variants.
 
That's from the dictionary- it includes examples with both .
