Not really, no. We do use the version with "it" but usually only when we are the person to say both parts of the sentence.

John: The president just resigned. I'm really surprised - I didn't see it coming.
Jane: Me neither.

John: The president just resigned.
Jane: Wow! Really? I didn't see that coming!
