Hi everyone

French student stuck with linguistic exercices ( syntactic subcategories of verbs )

I would like to know what is the syntactic type of 'make' in that sentence:

" I had not meant to make things difficult."

I was gonna say that it is a intensive verb but I am not sure 100% and also I don't know how to explain my choice.

I'm not a grammarian.

Let's see what teachers say. I'm interested in reading their answers.

Welcome to the forum. :hi:

Please note that I have changed your thread title, and I have moved what was your title to the main body of your post. Titles should be unique and relevant to the thread, and should include some/all of the words/phrases you are asking us about.

Before anyone answers definitively, I'd suggest that since this seems to be part of a college assignment, you could try to tell us why you think it's an intensive verb. What have you already learnt?

Glad you said that. I deleted my probably-useless-anyway opinion.
