I have bought the same dress______ she wore last year.
A. as B. that

I want to know in the above sentence, if "as" is used, whether it means" I have bought the dress which looks the same as what she wore last year" while if "that" is used, whether it means "I have bought just the dress that she wore last year". Or for the second case, both "as" and "that" can be used? Thanks for help!

The correct sentence is:

I have bought the same dress (as the one) she wore last week.

This means that the design of the dress is the same. It's not actually the very same item. If it were the same item, that would be correct.

If it were the same item, "as" can not be used in the sentence, can it?
