Is the following comparison correct?

I have two parents - one mother and one father.
I have two pairs of parents - two couples( two fathers and two mothers due to divorce )

Is the following comparison correct?

I have two parents - one mother and one father.:tick:

I have two pairs of parents - two couples (two fathers and two mothers due to divorce).
The second is only correct if your birth parents and step-parents married each other's spouses.

Otherwise, say 'I have four parents – a father and mother and a stepfather and stepmother.

What is it you want to compare?

Say two sets of parents, not two pairs. One mum and one dad together make one set.

I assume you know that your parents' spouses are usually referred to as stepparents.

A Korean might think that "I have two parents." refers to "I have two sets of parents.", so I wanted to quote the latter.
As Rover said, does "I have two pairs(sets) of parents" only mean that my birth parents and step-parents married each other's spouses?
Can't it mean that the step-parents are not an ex-couple?

I have two parents - one mother and one father.
I have two pairs of parents - two couples( two fathers and two mothers due to divorce )

In this context, the word 'couple' in the Western world refers to two people who are married or in another form of civil partnership—formal or informal ... we don't judge.

In your OP, it's not clear whether your new stepmum and stepdad are themselves a couple or were total strangers before they became related to you.

I have a Dutch friend with a complicated family. His natural grandparents met at his parents' wedding. One of his mother's parents and one of his father's fell in love, leading to two divorces and another wedding.
