Im a little confuse with this sentence:
'Congratulations! I hear you passed your exams.'
Why is 'pass' in the past tense if 'hear' is in the present tense?
 
I'm a little confused [STRIKE]with[/STRIKE] by this sentence:

'Congratulations! I hear you passed your exams.'

Why is 'pass' in the past tense if 'hear' is in the present tense?
Has somebody told you that every verb in a sentence must be in the same tense? Forget it; it's not true.
