1) I used to be strong like you.
2) I used to be strong, like you.

I think #1 means:
a) I used to be strong the way you are strong.

I think # 2 could have these two meanings:

b) Like you, I used to be strong.
c) You are strong. I used to be strong, I was like you back then.

Would you agree with that?

I suspect that #1 could be used to express meaning (c), but I think that would be careless usage.

If I had meant only #2 then I'm pretty sure I would have said that. (I hope I'm not coming across as being impolite.)

I would be more definite, but I haven't had my coffee yet. 😊
