Hi, everyone. I was wondering if three sentences have the same meaning. Are they correct? Please help me.


  1. I would like my brother to improve his English.
  2. I wish my brother to improve his English.
  3. I wish my brother improved his English.

  2. I [STRIKE]wish[/STRIKE] hope my brother [STRIKE]to[/STRIKE] improves his English.
  3. I wish my brother improved his English.(but he did not)
.
 
Sentence 3 is not correct, even with tedmc's comment.

3a. I wish my brother would improve his English.
3b. I wish my brother had improved his English.
