Change 'era' to 'age'.
 
I would probably use "the" before "dinosaurs". Otherwise, I am fine with that sentence. (Maybe if I was a paleontologist I would be pickier, but I am not one.)

I'd shorten it to "I'd like to go back to the time of the dinosaurs". It's clear that you're talking about going back in time.
 
Can we use 'age' even if we are talking about a person like "Alexander"?
As always, please give us a complete example sentence.

You'll have to be more specific. There have been millions of people called Alexander throughout history.
