Hello,
we can say for example "I'd like to have a brother, but I don't have anyone". But how would we say it with a pet for example "I'd like to have a pet, but I don't have..."?

'...but I don't have one.'

'...but I haven't got one.'

Even if you were talking about a brother, you wouldn't use "... but I don't have anyone" at the end.

I would like to have a brother but I don't have one.
I would like to have a brother but I have three sisters.
I would like to have a brother but my mum doesn't want any more children.
I would like to have a brother but I'm an only child at the moment.

I would like to have a pet but I don't have one.
I would like to have a pet but I can't have one because my house is too small.
