So, is it correct to use identified with here or not; I mean literary of course?

Whatever the context, "we are not identified with" does not work here. What do you mean? Do you mean that you don't know what happened to him after he left the party? Or that you "cannot identify with what he did" (ie you cannot put yourself in his position and sympathise/empathise with him)?

We were not involved in what happened ...
We were not a part of what happened ...

The choice of words depends on your intended meaning.
