Hi!
I am reading Oliver Twist (Charles Dickens) and there is an idiom that appears frequently and I cannot find the meaning. Here it is:
"youjust see if I don’t, that’s all, my work’us brat!"
"Work’us,’ said Noah, ‘how’s your mother?"

 
It's not an idiom. It is Dickens' attempt to render the pronunciation of Workhouse, a social institution of Victorian Britain that you can read up on.
