This is a practice text for the speaking part of the IELTS exam. Please correct it and make it colloquial.
Topic:Describe a person who is often in the news, and who you would like to meet. (Source)
You should say:
My response:
I'd like to meet Elon Musk. I know him from newspaper. He's involved in the news of the US president election, Russia-Ukraine war, and the AI development. Also, there has been some gossips about him and Hollywood celebrities. I want to meet him because I want to know about his progress on the AI development. He mentioned that AI will soon make all workers obsolete. I've been waiting for that day. I hope he can produce robots which can do all chores and execute difficult tasks, such as repairing home appliances, so that I could spend more time doing things I like.
I want to be a translator in the future, and many people have asked me if I'm worried about being replaced by AI. I'm not. Not in the slightest! Not that they wouldn't be able to take my jobs. I believe if they could translate 100% correctly, which means they know humans better than we humans do, they could do all the jobs. By then, I won't have other career options. For me, the most important thing is to improve myself now rather than to worry about distant future. Therefore, if I met Elon Musk, I would like to learn more about how we can use AI to improve our lives, especially on language.
Nowadays, many people rely on AI to help them draft and proofread emails and essays. It's not a bad thing and it does save us a lot of time. However, the problem is that many people think they are clear but actually they are not. If we gave unclear commands to AI, they would provide only vague advice or answers. Also, sometimes AI might offer information beyond our ken so how do we understand it? We have to enhance ourself first.
