My response:
I read an article about obesity online a few years ago. The article discussed why obese people have increased a lot in the past few decades and how we can improve the situation by a balanced diet and workouts.
One of the main reasons is that people nowadays live a sedentary life. We spend a lot of time sitting in the office and vehicles. In the article, it is suggested to work out for 30 minutes every day, such as running or swimming. Walking is also good. For example, if we ride bus home, we can get off the bus one or two stops earlier and walk home. In the office, we can also do something to get us more healthier. Due to the limited space, we can stretch our arms and legs on our seat for 10-20 minutes during lunchtime.
As for a balanced diet, it is recommended that eating more vegetables and less meat. Reduce the consumption of sugary foods such as cake and sweet. We can replace them with fruits which contain natural fructose. The article also provided a low-fat yogurt recipe featuring guava. However, if anyone who has a long-term illness, such as diabetes, it is advisable to consult an dietitian because they may have some special needs for diet.
I think the suggestions from the article are effective and achievable. Many people are busy so it's a great idea to squeeze some simple exercises in their office hours. Also, getting off the bus earlier is easy to do. The fruit, guava, doesn't cause rapid spikes in blood sugar levels so I believe it's a good choice for our diet.
