Which is grammatically correct?

1. If you asked me, I would have told you. :cross: [STRIKE]or[/STRIKE]
2. Had you asked me, I would have told you. :tick:

[STRIKE]And[/STRIKE] What is the difference?

Welcome to the forum. :hi:

The first is incorrect. It would be correct with "If you had asked me, I would have told you". Had it said that, both sentences would have been correct and would have meant the same.

If you had = Had you (in this construction).
