Hello. Please help me understand the dialogue below;

A: Merlinda, how can i tell if Sandra likes me or not?
B: You can tell by her body language. Does she cross her arms or avoid eye contact .
A: No, neither. But I'm scared to death that she thinks of me as her brother.
B: I have an idea. I will watch you two interact and i will tell you what I observed.

So, the point of my question is why B says "I'll tell you what I observed", not like "I will observe" or "I observe".

Thank you for your help in advance.

The telling will be in the present. The observing will be in the past.

The observing is done before the telling and it happpens just once. The present tense would imply a repeated event.

Possibly just because it was written by a non-native speaker. It should be:

... and I'll tell you what I observe.

The present tense would imply a repeated event.

No, it wouldn't. In this context it would be a single observation of the whole interaction.
