I'm asking the attendant how many mileage points I've accrued for my last trip from New York to L.A. She write it on a piece of paper and puts it in front of me. I say:

So, does this include my previous trip?

OR

So, does that include my previous trip?

Are both okay here?

She won't understand the question.

Are you asking her whilst on a current flight from NY to LA?

You appear to be asking about your last flight. She answers this question.

What do you mean by your previous flight?

It's just a hypothetical situation. I'm not really asking for information. I just want to know if I should use this or that in a situation where something is placed right in front of me. Are both okay?

You could tell that by the number of miles. The distance from New York to LA is approximately 2,500 miles.

They are both OK.

But last works better than previous.
