Is this sentence correct? I form it just to know if I should use 'also' when there's already "in addition to". I feel that 'also' is unnecessary. What is correct?

In addition to playing soccer, he (also) plays tennis and golf.

Can the sentence be correct without using also?

Thank you!

The sentence is also correct without also.
