:up: Thanks. I assumed that ouisch's police officer was in the USA, and even if the US has an equivalent of the 'sus law' (I haven't followed your link yet) citizens of the USA are much more ticklish about the interpretation of 'probable cause'.

I didn't give enough detail in my answer - in that particular scenario I meant that a police officer had stopped a car for speeding. When the officer spoke to the driver, he saw that there was a small plastic baggie of what appeared to be marijuana in plain sight on the passenger's seat. (As stupid as it sounds, I've seen this happen on COPS.) (Speaking of COPS and "in plain sight," there was an episode where they stopped a guy for driving erratically. The driver had a marijuana joint tucked behind his ear, yet during the ensuing interview he denied ever using drugs, etc.) :lol:
