Which one is correct or preferred, "in search of" or "in search for". I think that the meaning of both are the same but "in search of" is more idiomatic or is there a difference between them?

Thank you all the time in advance.

"In search for" is wrong.

Thank you and I was about to add more. Then, how about " in the search for"? Can I use this phrase instead of "in search of"? Or context should be different because of "the"?

"The" would make it OK in certain context.
