In this a satisfaction introduction for this topic "Are online courses a positive or negative development?".

"In some universities, online courses have become an educational development for the last few years. While some people argue that this new educational approach/this current trend has much more drawbacks than advantages, personally, I feel that there are far more benefits to students' studying online."

Don't you think it is too simple, and the vocabulary is not good enough?

Do you think that "online courses" is singular or plural?

Sorry. I have always forgotten to make sure that subject and verb agree in my essays.

"In some universities, online courses have become an educational development for the last few years. You need to change the title of your essay for the same reason.

ambitious-girl could you give us a clean copy of where you are now, with the title? With all the edits I'm a bit lost.

I will offer:

for the last few years -> over the last few years -or- of the last few years. (this might just be my preference).
much more -> many more

I'd prefer 'the introduction of online courses has become an educational development' . For me a development means that there is a change, in this case the introduction of online courses. But that might just be me.

Sure teacher.
This is an IELTS title for the writing section:

Some universities now offer their courses on the Internet so that people can study online. Is this a positive or negative development?

Now, I am going to give an introduction for the topic mentioned, so is the following introduction regarding the topic mentioned good enough?

"In some universities, online courses have become an educational development over the last few years. While some people argue that this new educational approach/this current trend has many more drawbacks than advantages, personally, I feel that there are far more benefits to students' studying online."

ambitious-girl thank you for that.

My only concern is the relationship between 'online courses' and 'development'. - From the dictionary: Development is
the process of developing or being developed. As we are saying this development has occurred over several years I think we can safely see it as an ongoing process.

So the process is not 'online courses' but possibly 'the introduction of online courses' or 'the increasing usage of online courses'

Hopefully you will get some more input on that from other posters.

I prefer '
new educational approach' to 'current trend'.

become a development doesn't sound exactly right to me. Remember, introduction needs a singular verb.
