I have this inverted sentence ''Little did we know that they were waiting.''

If I am going to turn it into a normal sentence, is it right to say ''We know little that they were waiting''?

Please advice.

Thanks.

No. The first sentence is correct. The best you could do to change it is "Surprisingly, we did not know they were waiting." "Little did we know" indicates surprise.

Thanks!

Or We had no idea that they were waiting.
