It seems like band names are both used as singular AND plural.

For example, I've seen both of the followings:
"Green Day is ....."
"Green Day are ....."

What would be correct?
Also what about band names that are plural (i.e. Pet Shop Boys)?

Thanks in advance.:-D

Like most collective nouns, band names can be followed by a singular or plural form of the verb, in BrE at least. The plural form is more common, especially with bands.

When the name has a specifically plural form, as in Pet Shop Boys, then the singlar form of the verb is not used.
