Is it correct to say, 'I bought it through the internet.'

Hi teachers,
Is it correct to say, 'I bought it through the internet.'
By the way, I've seen books where they write 'Internet' with a capital letter, and others don't. Which is the right one?

There doesn't seem to be a standard agreement on whether or not to capitalise "Internet" although I'm writing this on an iPhone and it just automatically capitalised it. I normally don't. I also usually just call it the net.

As far as internet purchases are concerned, you will hear:

I bought it on the [inter]net.
I bought it off the [inter]net.
I bought it online.
I bought it through an online shop.

"I bought it through the internet" doesn't sound very natural to me.
