It is a literary statement said by a teacher to describe his grown up students in the boarding school he has established years ago. So, is it said correctly or not? Please, put in mind that it is translated.

The seed was put in the right soil, and no bird ever picked it. This seed was watered and supplied with light, and finally it grew up. How fantastic it is!

P.S: The seed is a reference to every student in this school.

Your original is OK but here is one alternative:

The seed was planted in fertile soil, and never disturbed. It was watered and bathed with light, and finally it emerged and grew. How fantastic it is!

Thanks indeed!
