Is "The girl" a noun phrase?
The word "girl" is the head of the noun phrase. Right?
Can the definite article be part of a noun phrase?
 
Technically, because there are two words, it could be called a noun phrase.

Thank you. I was not sure if articles can be part of noun phrases.
 
I don't know if that has been specifically decided. I just went with logic.
