Is the present progressive possible?

Is it possible to substitute the verbs in present simple with present progressive in the following extract:

We hope you are enjoying this marvellous weather as much as we are. We sunbathe and go swimming every day. Next week we are going scuba diving.

To me it seems that it's possible, as the situation is temporary, and temporary situations are often described with present progressive. The key in the grammar book though gives only the present simple. Is it the phrase every day that makes the use of the present progressive impossible? But for this phrase, could we use the progressive verb form?

We hope you are enjoying this marvellous weather as much as we are. We are sunbathing and going swimming. Next week we are going scuba diving.

Even if we leave every day in the sentence?

Yes, although since it's not possible to be 100% sure that those things will happen in the future, it might be better to say "We have been going swimming and sunbathing every day".
