I'm writing a story and I'm looking for a phrase like "getuschte Wimpern" in German and I could have sworn there was one? Like touched? If I Google that with eyelashes I get some pictures of eyelashes with mascara but most of the results just talk about actually touching them with a finger and the ones that don't seem to be non native English... Is mascarad a word?

The Corpus of Contemporary American English returns 25 hits for mascaraed, so that is certainly a valid word. The only minor issue is spelling: mascaraed not mascarad.

25 hits is not many, is it?

Try writing the sentence (in English) in which you wish to use that expression, and we'll see how we can help you with it. Post it below.

As probus has said, the word "mascaraed" does exist in English. I'm pretty sure I've never used it. Because mascara is applied only to the eyelashes, there's not really any need to use both words. We'd just say that a person was "wearing mascara". We know where it is!

I talked to my usage consultant about this one. At first she thought maybe it thought it had something to do with "masquerade". When I explained to her it has to do with mascara, she said she didn't know that word.

Perhaps you need to find a consultant.

She's a native speaker. Her being female helps, because that provides a different perspective. And she doesn't charge me anything.
