[Grammar] Is "thinking for..." wrong?

I have used the following sentence as my status message in one of the social networking apps: "Thinking for a new status.". And everyone started complaining that I'm wrong about this sentence (saying that 'for' cannot follow 'thinking' in this case). I think it is correct. Can anyone please tell me the correct usage? If in case I'm wrong, what should be the correct sentence to say that "I have no status in my mind currently, but I'm looking for a new status" (basically I would see it as 'thinking for a new status').

Use 'looking for' or 'thinking about'.

But I also want to know if the usage of "Thinking for a new status" is correct or not.
