Recently I read a piece of news about the vaccination here in China. It says that China now has more than 1.6 billion people and if we want to be safe (without wearing masks), we need to inoculate more than one billion people to build the "immunity safety net/immunity shield". I wrote a sentence to express the idae:
It needs more than one billion vaccinated people to build the immunity shield.
Is my sentence natural? I don't think so. Would you please help me to improve it?
When I said "immunity shield", I mean the vaccinated people are immune against the virus and it's like shield to protect those who don't get vaccinated. I translated the term from Chinese.
