Yes. I guess it is probably a typo.

I wonder if it's not supposed to be 'friends' (plural), but it's grammatical. If it's referring to only one shared friend, then the singular works as is.

"Pray for each other's needs"= You pray for my needs and I'll pray for yours. We don't even necessarily need to know exactly what those needs are - just that needs exist.

Praying for a friend (or friends) seems pretty self-explanatory to me.
