I come across the following sentence and please tell me what i have to do with this sentence:
He hadn't been a famous singer before he went to Paris.
-> It was not until he went to Paris that he was/ has been a famous singer.

Please tell me which one is correct. Thanks in advance.:)

Welcome to the forum. :hi:

Neither is correct. What do you mean by "... tell me what I have to do with this sentence"? Is this homework?

Actually, I'm an English tutor and English is not my first language. I would like to be a member of this forum to improve my English grammar. When looking for some grammar points in books and on the internet, I came across this sentence. that made me confused.:-?
